Thirty Summers

Privacy Policy

Effective 20 July 2026

Thirty Summers doesn't ask who you are — you get a random account ID, not a name, email, or password. We store your daily calls and a rough location (about a 25 km circle) so we can compare today against your town's real weather record. We don't run ads, track you across other apps, or sell your data.

Your account

Solo play needs no sign-up. Behind the scenes we create an anonymous Supabase user ID — a random string with no name, email, or password attached. If you start a Duel, you also choose a display name so your rival knows who they're playing.

What we store

Every call you lock — the date, your town's grid cell, your guess, and the actual outcome — is stored against your anonymous ID, with database access rules that only let your own account read or write your own rows.

Location

The app reads your location on-device. Our server receives your coordinates once, only to match you to the nearest town record, and stores just the resulting ~25 km grid cell. Weather lookups are then made for that cell or its weather station — Apple WeatherKit, WeatherAPI.com, and Open-Meteo never receive your name, email, or account ID.

Notifications

If you grant permission, we register a device push token, used only to send your daily reminder and, if you're in a Duel, a nudge from your rival. No permission, no token, no notifications.

The historical record

Your town's 30-year normals come from public climate datasets — Copernicus ERA5 and NOAA's GHCN-Daily station network. These are aggregate climate records, not personal data.

What we don't do

No ads. No cross-app tracking. No analytics or advertising SDKs. We never sell or share your data for marketing.

Deleting your data

Email us and we'll delete your account's rows — your plays, your Duel history, everything tied to your anonymous ID.
